The University Village Albany (UVA) Community Center is a recreational facility located at the University Village Albany (UVA) housing complex. The space is designated specifically to support student residents and non-student residents (17 years and older) living at UVA. All residents (17+) are able to access the facility free of charge.
The facility includes cardio and weight equipment, an open gym, and 5 Peloton bikes.
The community center is located at 1125 Jackson Street, Albany, CA 94706.
UVA Community Center access
UVA student residents will be able to access the space by tapping the card readers with their university ID, the Cal 1 Card.
In addition, non-student residents who are 17 years and older will be eligible for access cards that can be used to get into the space. In order to secure these cards, student residents must complete an online request form for each non-student resident within their household that would like access to the space. Due to large interest, please note that requests are currently taking up to 1-2 months to process.
Please note the following when requesting the access card:
- Non-residents requesting access must be listed on the rental agreement and must be 17 years or older.
- Student residents must submit a new request form for each non-student resident within their household that would like access to the space.
- Access cards will remain valid as long as the household member remains on the rental agreement.
- Requests for access cards will be reviewed and processed within 7 business days. Once approved, instructions will be provided via email on how and where to pick up your access card.
Campus-wide recreation
All UC Berkeley students are also automatically provided with a Recreation & Wellbeing membership (covered by student fees). Sign your RecWell Activity Waiver to get access to facilities campus-wide like the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF), join a group fitness class on campus, or take a lap in one of RecWell’s swimming pools.
Non-student UVA residents can also purchase day-passes to RecWell pools or register for fee-based personal training sessions, instructional fitness classes, Martial Arts classes, and Adventures equipment rentals.
Children and adolescents (ages 2-18)
While the community center is restricted to residents 17 years and older, a wide array of programming is available for youth at UC Berkeley, including early learning and care for infants, camps for youth ages 4-17, and teen programs. For more information on programming available for youth, please see our child and adolescent programs page.
