Dr. King hails from Georgia and began her career in Corporate Learning at Aflac, Inc. In January 2008 she began her involvement in higher education and Community Counseling studies. Dr. King has created opportunities for different populations of students including co-creating a first-generation, Black woman-identified space for group counseling at the University of West Georgia, serving as taskforce chair for the Gender Inclusive Housing initiative (themed housing) at Clemson University, re-imagining and implementing civil rights-inspired immersion learning trips at IUPUI (IU Indianapolis), and advocating for student affairs support during moments of civil unrest/demonstrations at Northwestern University.  In August 2023, Dr. King completed her doctorate of education program at USC in Organizational Change and Leadership. Dr King’s work has spanned a broad variety of roles ranging from Chair of Governance for the Association of College Unions International Board of Trustees to co-leading the Norris University Center at Northwestern University as Director of Operations and Events. Dr. King’s vision is to positively impact the health and wellness of those she engages; while reducing the limitation of access to resources and knowledge that make health and equity possible.
