University Village Recreation Program, at UC Berkeley was founded in 1986 and established to serve the needs of the University’s family housing residents.
The program participants represent a cross-section of cultural and international diversity that includes families from 65+ countries.
Exercise facility, group fitness classes and open recreation are available for Access Pass holders aged 17 and older. Additionally, offerings are available for children, including the afterschool program and summer camps.
Access Pass
The University Village Community Center Access Pass (formerly UVA Fitness Membership) provides unlimited use of open rec hours and group exercise classes offered in the main gym and fitness room. Access Passes may be purchased online. Day Pass and One-Time Drop In classes are not available. Students currently enrolled at UC Berkeley and up-to-date with their fees incur no additional charges for inclusion.
Group Fitness Classes
Join us for a diverse array of fun and motivating group fitness classes at the UVA Community Center ranging from cycling to dance to yoga or pilates.
Open Recreation
Open recreation in the Gymnasium is available to Access Pass holders for a wide variety of sports.
Facility Rentals
Many of our facilities are available for rent including the Community Room and Classrooms. We are accepting a limited amount of rental requests.Â
Youth Recreation
The program has recently come under the management of our experienced UC Berkeley Youth Recreation team, which leads a wide range of programming for youth–including an afterschool program and summer camp at UVA, and year-round programming and summer camps at various locations across the UC Berkeley campus. The Youth Recreation team has been providing youth programming for the Berkeley community for more than 60 years.
