Welcome to the Village International Program (VIP)! This program is designed to support and connect international students and their families at UC Berkeley’s University Village Albany and xučyun ruwway housing complexes. We also bridge connections between international and domestic families.
Our community brings together students and families from around the world, speaking many languages, sharing unique traditions, and learning together.
What We Offer
VIP is a free program providing:
- Social opportunities to build community and meet new friends
- Educational resources, including conversational language exchanges, to support your growth
- Cross-cultural experiences to celebrate our community’s diversity

Our events run throughout the year. All residents and their families are encouraged to attend.
- Talk Time – Weekly language practice for English and other community languages
- Cultural events: International holidays, educational events, etc.
- Community socials: Movie nights, community meals, etc.
- Community outings: Bike rides, attending local events, etc.
